A Georgia Rotary Student Program (GRSP) scholarship made it possible for Kenya native Michelle Kinuthia to study at Reinhardt for the 2025-2026 academic year. Interested in data science and mathematics, she quickly immersed herself in cybersecurity and information technology courses, while exploring new academic interests and singing with the University choir.

Before arriving in Waleska, Michelle attended Strathmore University in Nairobi. “My Reinhardt experience has been wonderful, especially with supportive people who helped me to adapt to a new culture,” she reflected. “One thing that struck my heart about Georgia is people helping others without expecting something in return. The spirit of giving is beautiful.”

On campus, Michelle serves as a peer leader with the Office of Prevention and Awareness. With her host family’s church in Woodstock, Georgia, she finds fulfillment in distributing food to the homeless community and through supporting children in need.

Michelle’s passion for cooking reflects her belief that food brings people together. Her hospitable spirit fosters connection and promotes peace through mutual understanding.

Since 1946, the GRSP has sponsored international students, and Kinuthia is pleased that they chose Reinhardt as the right match for her.
