A group of talented Reinhardt University theatre students recently showcased their skills to professional national companies at the Southeastern Theatre Convention (SETC). Selected based on the strength of their audition videos, the SETC invited nine students to audition in person at the event held in Baltimore, Maryland, from March 19th through the 22nd, 2025.

Collectively, the students earned an impressive 27 callbacks from companies across ten states, with potential job offers on the horizon. Eight of the students performed, while Olivia Adams (RU-2025), a student focused on a technical theatre career, presented her lighting design portfolio and engaged in production details discussions with theme park companies.

This incredible experience provided the students with valuable networking opportunities and access to cutting-edge professional development sessions, allowing them to refine their craft and gain a deeper understanding of the latest trends in the theatre industry.

Jenna Gonzalez (RU-2025) reflected, “I’m grateful for the opportunity to put ourselves in front of professional companies and the experience of having practical business conversations with them. It gave me a better sense of the offers out there, the questions I should be asking, and what kind of work environment I am looking for. I also really enjoyed the variety of workshops offered as someone who wants to pursue multiple aspects of the performing arts; I definitely feel more confident about getting into the industry after college than I had before.”

In addition to Adams and Gonzalez, the students chosen to attend were Ciara Devane, (RU-2026), Makena Fosdick, (RU-2026), Nathaniel Grisham (RU-2026), Danielle Lusian (RU-2027), Molly Maresca (RU-2026), Alexis McCone (RU-2025), and Kaylee Rae Traverso (RU-2026).
