Reinhardt University will host its 29th annual Dave Henritze Scholarship Golf Classic at the beautiful Capital City Club – Crabapple on May 2.

“The Dave Henritze Scholarship Golf Classic has provided more than $3 million in scholarships for Reinhardt University students,” said Dale Morrissey, director of development and external relations for Reinhardt. “We are excited to host this year’s tournament at Capital City Club – Crabapple in Milton. The course is absolutely gorgeous and the staff has been wonderful to work with. We know our participating golfers will have an excellent time supporting Reinhardt students.”

The tournament is named for David Durham Henritze, one of the founders of the Reinhardt University Scholarship Golf Classic in 1989. He chaired the Classic for 10 years and, just prior to his death in 2000, the tournament named in his honor. Today, his son, Fred, and grandson, Hunter, carry on his tradition as committee leaders for this event, while the entire Henritze family participates by way of support for the tournament.

“As we enter our 29th Annual Dave Henritze Scholarship Golf Classic, I continue to be thankful and humbled for all of the sponsors and players over these many years who are making such a difference in the world for the students of Reinhardt University,” said Tommy Beman, chairman of the Classic committee and a mentee of Dave Henritze. “You would all be very impressed by the caliber of young men and women who are recipients of these scholarships and the great impact they are making in their fields and communities. Thank you so very much and we look forward to another great event.”

The Classic day at Capital City Club – Crabapple begins at 9 a.m. with registration and practice, followed by a shotgun start at 11 a.m., a late afternoon barbecue meal and presentation of awards.
