As lives continue to change day-to-day while the United States works to prevent the spread of COVID-19, Reinhardt University is making temporary policy changes related to admissions requirements for the Summer and Fall 2020 terms.

“We understand the impact Coronavirus (COVID-19) has had on families and our community,” said Dr. Mark Roberts, Reinhardt’s acting president, provost and executive vice president. “Testing organizations are no longer administering standardized entrance exams, or delaying their administration too far into the summer.  Moreover, high schools across the world are closed and some cannot process transcript requests. In light of these realities, our leadership opted to relax admission requirements for the Summer 2020 and Fall 2020 semesters.”

For on-campus freshman students entering Summer or Fall 2020, SAT or ACT test scores will no longer be required for applicants with a calculated high school GPA of 2.5 or above. Students previously declined admission for Summer or Fall 2020 will be re-evaluated based on this new policy. In addition, unofficial high school transcripts will be accepted toward consideration of provisional admission status. Official transcripts must be received by the university no later than July 1, 2020.

Reinhardt is also waiving SAT or ACT test score requirements for dual enrollment students who have a GPA of 3.5 or above. Students previously declined for admission for Summer or Fall 2020 will be re-evaluated.

Additionally, SAT or ACT test scores won’t be required for international students with a calculated high school GPA of 3.0 or better. Those previously declined for Summer or Fall 2020 will be re-evaluated. Unofficial high school transcripts in English will be accepted toward consideration of provisional admission status, and the university must receive an official transcript evaluation by July 1, 2020.

Students who want to enter Reinhardt University online programs for associate or bachelor’s degrees or those who wish to earn a graduate degree also will see relaxed admission requirements. Those who have never attended college before will not have to provide SAT or ACT scores for admission consideration as long as their high school GPA was 2.5 or above. All adult/online/graduate students wishing to apply for the Summer 2020 or Fall 2020 semesters can submit unofficial transcripts for consideration of provisional admission status. Official transcripts must be received by the university no later than July 1.

For those applying to Reinhardt’s graduate programs who have an earned bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution and meets the cumulative GPA entrance requirement, GRE and GMAT test scores will be waived. Candidates for the Master of Arts in Teaching can be considered accepted conditionally until passing the GACE before Aug. 1 for summer and fall. All other admission requirements for this program must be met.
