Library Policies

Policies

  •  Open to the Public: Through a partnership with the Sequoyah Regional Library System (SRLS), community members can now use their SRLS card as a Reinhardt University Library card, granting access to our collections with specific borrowing guidelines. Click here to learn more
  • Donations: Your monetary contributions are vital in helping us acquire the ever-increasing volume of scholarly materials and maintain access to essential resources for our students, faculty, and staff. To learn how to donate, please contact the Office of University Advancement.
  • The library welcomes donations of books and media, though we reserve the right to add or dispose of items based on our collection criteria. We cannot appraise gifts or accept them with restrictions. Please note, we generally prefer nonfiction published after 2015 and award-winning fiction in good condition, and cannot accept items like periodicals, textbooks, or most outdated media formats. Contact Shannon Gibson for more information.
  • The Hill Freeman Library and Spruill Learning Center offers various rooms for different needs, including a large Community Room (329) reservable by SRLS public library card holders and Reinhardt faculty/staff/students, and Collaboration Rooms for small groups (first-come, first-served). Additionally, Flex Room 313 and Tech Lab 306 are available for reservation by Reinhardt faculty, staff, and student organizations, with the Tech Lab open for general use when not reserved. Click here to learn more about policies or how to reserve a room.
  • The Hill Freeman Library and Spruill Learning Center’s computer use policy ensures all users—students, employees, and community patrons—utilize resources ethically and lawfully. Adherence to copyright laws, respectful conduct, and refraining from transmitting or displaying inappropriate content are mandatory. Violations, including any actions that damage equipment or disrupt network traffic, may result in suspension of privileges, disciplinary action, or legal consequences.
  • The Hill Freeman Library and Spruill Learning Center’s Collection Development Policy outlines its approach to building and maintaining a relevant and diverse collection that supports Reinhardt University’s academic mission. The policy details selection criteria, fund allocation, and the responsibility of the Library Director and professional librarians in acquiring materials. It emphasizes compliance with copyright laws and the Library Bill of Rights, aiming to provide a wide range of resources for students, faculty, staff, and the wider community.
  • The Hill Freeman Library offers Exam proctoring Services with specific agreements for both proctors and test-takers. Proctors verify identity, supervise exams in available spaces, and handle paperwork, but do not mail exams or confirm receipt via calls. Test-takers must schedule appointments at least 24 hours in advance with the Library Director, confirm the library meets their school’s requirements, and pay proctoring fees and any additional costs (like printing) before the exam.
