Internships

Internships

Do you want to stand out in the crowd?
Build a strong resume?
Find out what career field is right for you?

Then complete an internship! An internship can give you the edge you need for your resume to stand out and the skills to be a step ahead of other candidates in the job search.

Not sure exactly what career path you want to take? An internship gives you a window of opportunity to "try out" a certain career and decide if it is right for you.

While internships are not a requirement for any program in the School of Mathematics and Sciences, faculty highly recommend and encourage you to complete one or even two!

Take what you have learned in the classroom and build upon it through an internship!

To get more information about an internship contact contact Dr. S. Beth Russell, associate professor of psychology, at 770-720-5975 or SBR@reinhardt.edu.

"I completed an internship with the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office because I always wanted to do something that would get me exposure to the police world," said Patrick Muza, a sociology/criminal justice major from Canton, Ga. "From the internship, I learned that police work is very strenuous. It is a job that requires you to be on your 'A' game everyday.

"I would encourage anyone to do an internship. I have told my friends that if they are unsure of the career they want to go into, then do an internship. I was not sure if I wanted to work in the criminal justice field before I did my internship; After completion of the eight-week period, I got a good look into the life of police officers, and now know without a doubt that this is the career that I want to pursue."
