Reinhardt University creates opportunities for students to plan for life after graduation as they transition from classroom to career. Workforce Wednesday, hosted by Vocation and Career Services, connects students with panelists representing different industries to discuss career pathways in those fields.

The office of Vocation and Career Services is a branch of Student Affairs that offers resources to support students throughout their college experience – from major and career planning to building resumes and writing cover letters.

Carely Pilgrim ’22, general business major, digital media minor and member of Reinhardt’s Women’s volleyball team, attended the first Zoom session of the semester on accounting, banking and finance careers.

“I feel like I gained an insight into the life of an individual in my career field,” said Pilgrim. “They answered questions about what day-to-day life looked like, the good and bad, and any other questions students posted.”

Pilgrim especially appreciated the chance to network amid the pandemic, one of the many ways Student Affairs helped students during a year with limited capacities.

“Workforce Wednesday provides students the opportunity to network, which is limited during a global pandemic. Being able to meet professionals in my intended career field while keeping health and safety guidelines was an opportunity I could not miss,” said Pilgrim.
