College of Humanities, Sciences, and Technology
Bachelor | Minor | On Campus

With a Bachelor of Science in Psychology degree, you will develop the intellectual habits and skills that will allow you to focus your education on graduate school, one of the counseling professions, or any of dozens of fields. Psychology is the scientific study of behavior. Students learn to apply scientific methods and data analysis techniques to a variety of human and non-human behaviors. Also, an emphasis is placed on developing students’ proficiency in academic skills; for example, papers and oral presentations are part of many of the psychology courses. Students who have majored in psychology can enter a variety of careers or pursue graduate education in the behavioral sciences or the helping professions.

Choose from two options for your psychology studies at RU:

  • Bachelor of Science in Psychology
  • Psychology minor

Psychology is the study of the soul—how people become who they are. In this program, you will learn how people develop, how our senses work, and how the brain converts sensory information into our mental images. You will learn how people differ from one another, how they interact with one another, how people think, how minds can fall apart, and how to help repair them.

You will receive a full psychology education from professors who know your name. With individualized instruction from faculty who have private practices and have active research programs, you will learn the tools to intelligently evaluate psychological information, and apply these tools to a variety of occupations.

You will be given many ways to show you’ve mastered these ideas, from possibilities to present at local and regional conferences to internships with local organizations.

By the time you graduate from Reinhardt University with a degree in psychology, you will understand:

  • The major cells and parts of the brain and how they work.
  • How to gather, analyze, and prepare research papers on your chosen psychological questions.
  • How to design an experiment to gather new information about human behavior.
  • Cross-cultural differences in human behavior and how these help us predict an individual’s behavior.
